Our recommendations are based entirely on your children. We do find that our 90-minute parties are generally better received than the 60-minute parties, 60 minutes often feels too short, 2-hour parties often feel too long, where 90 minutes is the sweet spot. However for events for people 16 and over, stick with the 60-minute parties, You don’t have the same energy as the kids.
We have 4 different types of parties
Pistol parties – excellent for 5 and up. We use nice simple Nerf guns and the kids aren’t distracted by the Nerf equipment they physically can’t use
Blaster parties – I recommend these for 8 + this is where we use the big Nerf guns, some of them are a little harder than others but the kids absolutely love these ones!
Rival Nerf guns – These are powerful and intense, I only recommend these for 12+ Nerf themself suggest 14+ but I have had a good time with these when playing with 12 year olds.
Deluxe – Any age! It’s a great tool for the kids.
We recommend booking 4 to 6 weeks ahead, especially for weekend parties. Saturday mornings and school holidays fill up first, so it’s worth getting in touch as soon as you have a date in mind. If we are available we are happy to do last minute parties, We have ran Nerf parties less than 24 hours after the booking before. A hosted Nerf party with The Nerf Guys costs £195 for 60 minutes or £230 for 90 minutes, plus a travel charge based on your location. Every party includes the Nerf blasters, darts, goggles, obstacles and a host who runs the games. You can add a theme for £15, bigger blasters for £50, or a custom theme from £40.
Yes. We can pencil in your date for free for 2 weeks while you sort out a venue. After 2 weeks, we ask for a £20 non-refundable deposit to keep the date reserved for you.
We take a £50 or £100 deposit on the day of the booking, the remaining balance isn’t due until the day of the Nerf party
You can move your party free of charge up to twice, as long as you give us one weeks notice Cancellations and changes made within 24 hours are covered in our Terms and Conditions.
Nerf parties are best for children aged 5 and over, and they work brilliantly for teenagers and adults too. Children under 5 can find the blasters hard to use, so we bring woollen snowballs for younger players.
Yes. We run Nerf battles for work parties, team-building days and stag dos, as well as birthdays. For groups aged 16 and over, we usually recommend our 60-minute party. See our Work Parties page for more.
With a hosted party, one of our team brings everything and runs the games for you. With Party in a Box, we send you the box with everything you need to run the party and run the games yourselves.

Yes. We run Nerf activities for schools, youth clubs, sports clubs and festivals, as well as private parties. For festivals, we only need a 6m x 10m space. Get in touch for a quote.

We run Nerf parties across South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. That includes Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, Derby, Chesterfield and the towns and villages in between. Not sure if we cover your area? Just ask.
Most homes are too small for a full Nerf battle, so we usually recommend a local community centre or village hall. Gardens can work if they’re private and the grass is short. See our outdoor party rules below.
We are based in Sheffield, there are a few costs we have to be aware of when we travel to Leeds, Manchester or Nottingham.
1: Petrol this is fairly obvious why we charge for that.
2: Time, We are paid from the moment we leave our house to the moment we get back, this includes the travel time, if I am sending a staff member one hour away for a party then we charge for those two hours
3: Flexibility. We often try and fit in as many parties in one day as we can, If the parties are close together we can fit in three parties in one day, but when they are further apart this is harder to do, and not always possible. We don’t charge for this, but it is something we are constantly considering
We have changed how we calculate our travel cost a number of times over the years. This was based on milage, time or a percentage of the actual cost to the company.
Now we calculate the true travel cost. (Miles + time * 2) and then we take £25 off for an hour party, or £40 for a 90 minute party. If your travel cost is below £25 then we do not charge you for the travel cost.
We are happy to contact halls for you provided we have time to do it. In our busy seasons, we may suggest that you look for the halls. We are only allowed to book halls that we have already vetted, some halls will also require the parents to book instead of the business
Yes we can do parties outside; however, we do have a few additional rules:
Please note with an outdoor party the deposit increases to £100. Do not book an outdoor party without confirming with us first. Reasons are stated below.
Outdoor parties require a longer set up time than a typical Nerf party, this can take up to an hour compared to an indoor parties 30 minutes. Because of this we charge an extra £50 for this additional 30 minutes, Because of other parties we may have booked that day, we may not have that extra set up time, unless we have been informed.
Outdoor parties T&Cs
1:Outdoor parties can only be held on private land and the grass must be short so that we can find our Nerf darts afterwards.
2:If multiple groups of players are attending, we will ask each group to pick up the Nerf darts before another group joins.
3: All effort will be put in to collect any and all Nerf darts. Although staff member may have to leave after 30 minutes if collecting all the nerf darts prove to be too difficult. Any Nerf darts left on or around the property is solely the customers responsibilities.
4:The location must be clear of all excrement.
5: Some obstacles may not be available for outdoor parties depending on that days weather. including running parties with limited obstacles and nerf darts. this is solely up to the staffs discretion.
6: Weather does have an impact on the party, in extreme weather the staff member may decided to stop or limit the activity. You will be charged in full if this occurs and no alternate indoor location is available.
Varying degrees of wind will prevent some battlefields objects from being used. This will be up to the staff members judgement.
7: If Met Office have issues a yellow or higher weather warning for the day of the party, then the party will need to be cancelled or reorganized.
Customers may be liable for cancellation charges because of weather, outdoor parties are organised at the customers risk.
8: Reorganisation of the activity is free for the first two instances of reorganising the activity providing we have 24 hours notice, any reorganisation within 24 hours is explained in our terms and conditions.
9: Even if you have an indoor back up, we will still have to charge you for that additional set up time, as we will assume we need it until told otherwise. Changes told on the day might still incur the charge as it may not be possible to get the message over in time.
10: It is only possible to do it in public land. If it is part of a public event or if we have express written permission from the local council and we are allowed to drive our vehicle close to the location we are running our activity. This will incur an additional charge of £50 as well as the £50 for outdoors as we will be required to fit a down a fence. and will take longer to pack away because of it.
11: The deluxe inflatable requires an additional £100 cost if we are required to bring our own generator.
For most Nerf parties, we arrive 30 minutes before your party starts to build the Nerf arena, and we need 30 minutes afterwards to pack away. Please book your venue for an hour longer than the party itself. Outdoor parties and inflatable deluxe arena need up to an hour of set-up and clean up.
All our parties are up to 30 children, more children come with an additional cost, and may require a second staff member who might not be available.
Yes. We adjust the games so younger and older children can play together fairly. For mixed groups with younger children, we usually recommend a pistol party, as the simpler blasters are easier for everyone to use.
That’s completely fine, and it happens at lots of parties. Our hosts are experienced at gently encouraging quieter children and finding a role that suits them, whether that’s being on a team with a friend or using woollen snowballs instead of a blaster. Nobody is ever forced to play.
Most families do food and cake after the Nerf games, once the children have used up their energy. Our 10am slot works especially well for this, as the party finishes just in time for lunch.
Our Deluxe Arena needs power. For outdoor Deluxe parties without power, we can bring our own generator for an extra £100.
Yes. We collect all our darts and equipment after the party, so you’re not left with any tidying. For outdoor parties, we’ll spend up to 30 minutes collecting darts.
Yes! We also provide woollen snowballs for the younger (and sometimes the older) children to use instead. These must be requested
For every party, I do I set aside some money to cover the replacement of bullets and equipment, Rival bullets and Rival nerf guns just happen to be more expensive. Rival Nerf guns are also very difficult to get hold of.
Not at all! Nerf guns fling foam darts and do not hurt. For younger kids, they may sometimes experience an initial shock and act like it hurts, but more often than not they will keep playing despite any tears! We have run over 2000 parties and have yet to have an accident involving the Nerf guns. (We have had kids not looking where they are going and run into other children)
Yes, every player wears goggles for the whole game, including parents.
Absolutely, all our staff members have Enhanced DBS checks, the only exception is while a staff member is on training and being accompanied by a more senior staff member.
Yes we have upto £5 million public liability insurance. Our insurance documents can be requested
